The Right Person for the Right Job

Pakistan is one of those unique countries where the people of finance are standing on the frontiers of foreign affairs, personnel from engineering background are doing in marketing, doctors try politics, education ministers are not literate, those who do not know anything on games, become chairmen of games, and those who are unable to do anything, run the national railway. The national policy and practice trickles down and we find the same follow suit on grass root level specifically in government institutions. Compromise on merit takes the toll of lower or even no productivity at organisational level and we travel back to the ages.
Finding right person for the right job is not a hard nut to crack. Simply following the requirement of job and the expertise of the candidate and maximum match of the both is the real key to find out the best fit out of the pool of candidates. But the nepotism, influences, and recommendations snake up from all sides and merit dies on its feet. For how long we will have to wait for the time when a candidate with highest qualifications and expertise will long for no reference from 'High Offices'?

Joblessness in our country

With today's slow economy, the Pakistan job market is tough. It is tough all over the world. Students graduating every year with little or no work experience find it especially difficult to land that first professional job. It is even harder for those experienced professionals who retire, are fired from one job or come back home after serving abroad but still need to find another one.
Attain higher education, engage in deliberate self-assessment to understand the types of industries and jobs that would be the best fit for your skills, write good resume research specific companies and organizations, use a three-pronged approach to identifying viable jobs in that field — reviewing job listings, networking and prospecting - but you still may not find a job. The openings may not be there or if they are, they may be filled up using non standard recruitment practices characterized by safarash, rishwat and or both. Lack of opening is not only typical of Pakistan but economic employment growth has always been a lagging indicator anywhere in the world. Even globalization and Internet are doing little in this case of employable and well conversant with English language workforce available in Pakistan. What to do?

Increasing population and subsequent lack of planning has led to many problems and unemployment is one of those burning issues of the present day which are taking heavy toll in form of domestic, political, social and marital unrest. But despite all these, we have firm belief that Allah has created us and He is the Sustainer of us all. One who sustains the worm in a stone, how can't He be ignorant of human being? Have belief in Allah. He is with you whereever you are and whatever you do. Your efforts are being watched by Him and He will give you the reward you deserve.He has written your Rizq, rest assured.

Increasing number of youngsters holding degrees of at least masters level in their hands and consequently, a meaningfully understandable unrest in society at almost all levels is the gift of incompetent rulers, lack of pragmatic policies, and trickle down effect of inefficiencies at highest rostrums of the government.
Increase in awareness is the dawn of frustration as the former leads to questions that have no answer and these unstated questions bring forth a highly dissatisfied young lot with disappointments on their foreheads and useless pieces of degree ''thing'' in empty hands.

Corporate Culture in Pakistan and Job Insecurities

Industrialists (and owners) that define the corporate culture in Pakistan have many things in common. Exceptions apart, corporate leaders in private sector ruthlessly eliminate any one who is not totally behind them.
This trend breeds job insecurity in the blue as well as white collars incumbents at all levels. Result: lack of commitment, lack of involvement by the employees and not putting in their best that in turn results in non-standard work environment and poor productivity. In a private survey restricted to some specially chosen industry units in Lahore, Manga, Bahi Pheru, Raiwind, Chunnian, and Sheikhupura reveals involuntary job loss, for any reason, as a most common concern of the employees. Survey also shows an increase in unemployment duration and decrease in job tenure. Job security is defined as: “a collective agreement clause which prevents or ameliorates the detrimental effects of job loss due to such factors as technological change, economic downturn, and or contracting.”
